Third Celebration of the International Day of Mathematics & Inauguration of the STEM Power Center

A celebration of Pi Day and the International Day of Mathematics, initially scheduled for March 14 to match the 3.14 of the famous mathematical constant and delayed by the pandemic, will take place now on May 7, 2021.

Co-hosted by ICTP-EAIFR, the University of Rwanda, the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) - Rwanda, and the country of Sweden, the event will feature a mathematics competition for talented students and the official launch of the STEM Power centre.

The aims of the event include celebrating mathematics and mathematics students, to connect students to available mathematics programmes at the University of Rwanda and AIMS-Rwanda. In addition, the day will highlight the importance of mathematics and its applications for science and technology.
